It’s on both sides of the eastern point of the 2.6 km long Palos Verdes Peninsula. It serves as a breakwater. The inner beach is within the breakwater and that makes water calm. The outer beach is outside the breakwater where you would find the ocean surf. Parking:

There are 2 types of parking at the Cabrillo Beach. If you park you on the mountain, it’s completely free of cost. The second of of parking is the beach parking lot. If you park your car in this parking lot, it’ll cost a little but hourly. Most of the time I’ve heard it’s $1/hour. You can choose the free option, if you are here for a short time vacation.
